Dancing in the sky & singing in the angel choir

Updated: Jun 5, 2024

Dear Baba,

A month has passed since that call on February 4th, and the silence without you is deafening. I find myself reaching for the phone, longing to share life's snapshots, craving your laughter and wisdom. The void is tangible, a weight that tightens my chest and silences my cries. I promised you strength, but some days, I falter, my knees buckle, my lip quivers, tears fill my eyes and I am weak.

Yet, life's tapestry continues to weave itself. Nyandeng shone on stage, her brilliance a testament to your legacy. Garang, ever the brave soul, mirrors your courage with each tooth he boldly claims. Little Ava explores the world with newfound curiosity, her milestones bittersweet in your absence. And Mom, your lifelong companion, still radiates a soft, resilient glow, guiding us like a beacon through the fog of loss.

Mombasa's heat lingers, a slow, heavy reminder of the pace at which you loved life. Though your physical presence is missed, the peace of knowing you're freed from pain brings a semblance of solace. In these postcards to heaven, I find comfort, keeping you woven into the fabric of our days.

Always in my heart,

I found a song that truly speaks to all I hope and imagine you are doing.. hope you like it..
